A room can play a fight that is not yours. A face can arrive in the air and close a throat. Neither of these is a reason to go looking for a war. They are reasons to know which door you are standing in.

In this current day and age, having psychic protection has never been more important. The season is loud. The spirits are near. The astral has the humans on edge and being weird. You do not need a theory of who is doing it. You need a door you can close.
If you understand the importance of salt and water combined, and the power of that as a protector, you are halfway there. The rest is a circle, a few ordinary acts, and the refusal to feed what you have already refused.

Dion Fortune, in Psychic Self-Defense, is plain about the best method:
”The best method to deal with this is to make a magic circle. A mere banishing by itself is not so effective as a banishing performed within a circle, because the circle will effectually prevent the banished forces from flowing back again. There are various methods of performing this operation, but the principle of all valid ones is the same.”
Stand facing east. Draw the circle deosil, east to south to west to north. Formulate it as a circle of light, especially around the bed. Banish inside it. The circle is what keeps the banished from walking back in.
Then the acts.
Wash your hands before you leave the house, and again when you come in. Salt water, or a hydrosol. A Turkish cologne will do.
Salt the threshold if the room has been disturbed.
Cover your head. Cover it in your sleep especially.
Close the windows at night.
Cross running water when you need the day to break behind you.
If a thought-form is already in the room, unmake it. Picture it bursting, or in flames, or dissolving into water. Then stop looking.
